John Bond’s passion, commitment and dedication to being the best in whatever he does has taken redfish bluefish to the forefront of the market. With a passion for science, technology and art he combined these three elements to re-create living breathing ecosystems
Committed to maintaining his high standards, John selects only the best products from around the world, sometimes products not usually used in the aquarium industry, when putting together an aquarium system from anything from 650 to 6,000+ gallons. Staff members are carefully chosen and engineering specialists used are the best in New Zealand.
redfish bluefish has built the longest aquarium in New Zealand held at a private residence and has one of the largest marine display aquariums in the prestigious Kings School in Auckland as well as numerous display aquariums for corporate clients such as Westpac Bank NZ, Equinox Group, SonyBMG, and a number of distinguished New Zealand business people.
John has been involved on a project for NIWA and is currently involved with a project in South Africa which will end with a project in Singapore. He has a degree in education, a London City and Guilds in heating and plumbing and recently was presented with an honorary certificate in Companion Animal Services (Aquatics) from the Maharangi Technical Institute and is awaiting an honorary advanced certificate. His intention is to give back to the institute by means of lectures and program development.
About John Bond:
John Bond has been involved with things watery for a great number of years. His background is in central heating and plumbing: a career spanning 13 years most of which spent in the UK.
He came to New Zealand 12 years ago and left the plumbing industry to attend university where he gained a degree in education and spent the next 4 years teaching in the primary school sector.
But all things watery called him back and he formed redfish bluefish. Recognising a possible niche, John went on to create a market and now stands as an industry leader.
John is married to Kath and has two boys Ziggy 10 and Leo 7. He enjoys bush running, cycling, playing African drums called Dun-Duns, walks along the beach and life in general.
