Aquarium and Pond Services COVID-19 Measures

During this trying time while the whole world is dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic, Red Fish Blue Fish remains committed to your Aquarium, Pond and Water Feature needs while strictly following the government’s guidelines.

We are generally considered a safe business and we can operate as per usual.

However, there are a few new health and safety measures we have adopted as part of our standard operations, which we will abide to:

  • Our team members are fully briefed in all the protocol and PPE requirements to ensure safety during this time. This includes, no physical contact, regular hand washing, and regular cleaning of tools and PPE.
  • No team member will be sent to your job if they show any sign of illness.
  • We will endeavour to keep the number of team members on a job to 1
  • We will ask questions pertaining to the health and wellbeing of all persons present at the job location
  • We will maintain our physical distance with our customers and anyone else onsite
  • We have implemented contact tracing measures

Only in alert level 4, are we restricted in the services we can offer as an essential business.

Alert Level 4

Red Fish Blue Fish is considered to be an essential business as a provider in the primary industries. We are allowed to provide essential services to Ponds and Aquariums during a- COVID-19 alert level 4.

Which part of our operations is essential?

Our aquarium maintenance and pond maintenance services are considered essential in the sense that our ceasing the operations would jeopardise the health and welfare of fish and turtles.

Examples of essential aquarium services:

  • Partial water changes
  • Filter cleaning and servicing
  • Remedying fish diseases
  • Water parameter and water chemistry maintenance/remedying to ensure the health and wellbeing of fish and aquatic plants
  • Lighting for planted or coral tanks
  • Water tightness issues of the tank or tank plumbing
  • Any issue posing an immediate threat to fish, plants or corals

Examples of essential pond services:

  • Partial water changes
  • Filter cleaning and servicing
  • Pump/circulation servicing
  • Remedying fish diseases
  • Water tightness issues of the pond or its plumbing
  • Any issues posing an immediate threat to fish/turtles

Examples of non-essential aquarium services:

  • Dealing with cosmetic issues of a tank such as aqua scaping, trimming of plants etc.
  • Light bulb replacement for fish only tanks (hard scaped)
  • Any issues not posing an immediate threat to fish, turtles, plants or corals

Examples of non-essential pond services:

  • Cleaning of ponds and water features for cosmetic purposes
  • Trimming of pond plants
  • Any issues not posing an immediate threat to fish/turtles

We are committed to the health and safety of both our staff and clients. To ensure this:

  • If we can avoid a call out by assessing and assisting you over the phone to help divert the emergency, we will.
  • Our team members are fully briefed in all the protocol and PPE requirements to ensure safety during this time. This includes, no physical contact, regular hand washing, and regular cleaning of tools and PPE.
  • No team member will be sent to your job if they show any sign of illness.
  • We will ask questions about the situation and assess the level of urgency on the phone with you.
  • We will ask questions pertaining to the health and wellbeing of all persons self-isolating at the job location
